Here you will find just about everything that is wrong with our City..... My main focus is the housing piece, namely the BONUS ADU PROGRAM, ill thought by Kevin Faulconer and Mike Hansen back in the COVID days of 2020., Gary Geiler and Jared Basler teaming up to do a video called "NINJA DENSITY", conducting these shady back deals that would throw just about every homeowner under the bus, doing all this action before they noticed.
What you see in many zip codes is a result of these two actions,, with the current mayor (Todd Gloria) and the current city council doubling down on a program that has basically destroyed the character of San Diego, under the guise of "affordable housing" All this progam has done is take starter homes off the market, bought by developers who set up multiple LLCs, creating an empire of properties, and converting them all into apartment complexes in the middle of single family homes, which have owners that have been in the same place for 20-50 years.
Starting with Toni Atkins SB9, which was benign, but really benefitted her wife, Jennifer La Sar, San Diego officials, planners, then mayor Kevin, put together all these other programs which rewards developers with all sorts of perks so they will create more revenue for the City, while throwing all of their property tax paying homeowners under the bus, devaluing their property by hundreds of thousands of $$$, allowing said developers to stuff an 8 unit complex in the middle of a single family neighborhood. The likes of Sean Elo-Rivera, and Jennifer Campbell thought they were doing a service to the under represented. by following the YIJMBY mode of thinking..... stuff as much "housing" (we have a housing crisis, right), in as little space as possible.....stack them deep, build them deep (more on that one later Just about every single Council Rep is tone deaf to their constituents. All they see is more revenue, as they continue to allow developers a free pass, and endless perks.
Photo Gallery: Photo gallery of out of scale ADU projects throughout the City and County of San Diego, the only city that thought that the BONUS ADU PROGRAM, COMPLETE COMMUNITIES, OR "HOMES FOR ALL OF US" were good ideas. All of them are written by developers for developers. ) Each page features a certain zip code. Most of them have actual street addresses. A sampling is down below. Look for picture gallery at the top of the menu.
Many more where that came from, then divided into zip codes, so you can see what is gracing your neck of the woods, and the best thing: how unbelievably cheap they are made. Projects that will turn into sawdust before the surrounding houses will.
